CA bake-off: winner!

The great archaeological bake-off

Thank you to all of you who entered our competition to bake CA a 50th birthday cake. Your creations looked fantastic. The winner is Hazel Mosley, with this detailed depiction of an archaeologist taking a break with CA 310 (typically, all the finds are hidden under the spoil heap!). Thanks to our friends at Oxbow Books for providing the prize.

We’re always impressed by the wonderful archaeological creations that our readers send in to our Edible Archaeology section. As it’s CA‘s 50th birthday next month, we thought the dedicated bakers among you might like to help us celebrate by baking an archaeological birthday cake for the magazine!

It can be anything related to Current Archaeology magazine – let your imagination run wild, and send us pictures of your creations.

We’ll print our favourite in the magazine, and the winner will receive a £50 voucher for books published by our friends at Oxbow Books.

So dust off your aprons, rise to the challenge, and cook up a storm! To enter, send a picture of your cake to [email protected] by Monday 13 February 2017.
