English Historic Towns Forum

A membership organisation workinga cross all sectors and all disciplines to enhance and promote the interests of historic towns. the Forum’s events and publications focus on perennial and topical issues and offer a strong platform from which to lobby policy makers on behalf of historic towns and cities.

Material Science-based Archaeology Group

Applies the techniques of material science to relevant archaeological problems, principally the investigation of Archaeo-metallurgical related material. Provides a service to archaeologists for the characterisation of such material at a fair cost.

British Museum Friends

The British Museum Friends have raised over ?4m for the British Museum. There is a special events programme, and free and priority entry to all British Museum exhibitions

Fortress Study Group

An international organisation interested in the whole range of fortifications since the advent of gunpowder. Thrice-yearly newsletter ‘Casemate’; annual journal ‘Fort’; annual Conference and annual overseas study tour.
