TAG is an affiliate of the national Vernacular Architecture group and has links with the North East Vernacular Architecture Group. They record urban and rural buildings, especially those at risk, and research their history, focussing on the ‘vernacular’ buildings of Northumberland, Durham, and Tyne & Wear.
Reports on buildings the group has studied are published in their occasional journal ‘Northumbrian Building Studies,’ which can be ordered for a small fee. Meetings are informal, and no membership fees are charged. New members with or without experience are welcome to take part in all aspects of their work.
