Mostly a local history society, the group aims to garner interest in Hawick’s past by commemorating the achievements of its people and supporting the local museum. They also carry out occasional excavation and cleaning up of relevant local sites. A winter series of lectures on local history run from September to March, and an evening excursion is held during the summer to visit notable buildings. There is also access to a publication of annual proceedings.
