Egyptology Scotland was founded December 2000 with the objective of promoting the study and understanding of Ancient Egypt in Scotland.
Egyptology Scotland host an annual lecture programme (held at venues in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen) aiming to provide members with access to the latest developments in the field of Egyptology. Events include group visits, members’ nights and Egyptology workshops.
Through their website and society newsletters, they hope to keep members in touch with the society’s activities and provide information on news, opinion and events connected to Egyptology worldwide.
Membership is £15 for adults and £8 for juniors (under 15). Membership benefits include reduced entrance fees to lectures, invitations to organised trips, events and social activities, and receipt of the society’s quarterly newsletters containing the society’s activities, lecture and book reviews, plus news from the world of Egyptology.
