Hello, I read with interest an article given with your permission about Fellgate, Red Barns Farm,
Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery
(HER 1796)
This was under the heading of –
A GUIDE TO THE ARCHAEOLOGY OF
THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
DEFENCE SITES OF TYNE AND WEAR
This AA battery, on the now A194 Shields Road, was allowed to become homes to a number of civilian Families, after WW2, and indeed was my home from 1950 to 1956, I would like to know if you have any photos of this camp during wartime or after, and what the procedure would be to acquire them.
Thank you Mr M Oakes
