The Department of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of Birmingham is a world-leading centre of excellence for both teaching and research and is one of the few university departments in the UK that draws together Archaeology and the study of Greece, Rome and Egypt. What we say:

A broad-ranging department with degrees in both archaeology and other related fields such as ancient history and classics, in addition to being one of the few departments to teach Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Cuneiform.  It is also home to the Ironbridge Institute, which focuses on the study of Heritage Management and the Historic Environment.
