This is a cake model of the Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne, Dorset. We are  an education centre where schools and other groups can experience the ways people  might have lived in the past, and our structures are based on archaeological evidence,  reconstructed using traditional tools, skills, and methods.

As you look at the photo, the top row (L-R) shows a Viking longhouse, Iron Age  earthhouse, Neolithic log cabin, and Iron Age roundhouse, while the bottom row has a  Roman waterwheel, Saxon sunken building, Roman forge, and Iron Age ditch. We have  an annual Viking weekend in July when  Viking re-enactors come to the ATC and  I bake a different model cake each year.
