Lithic Studies Society

The Society is open to all who have or who would like to develop an interest in lithic artefacts of any period and related matters. Members receive an annual journal, Lithics; participation in day-meetings, talks and field excursions and society publications at reduced prices.


International Review of Ancient Art and Archaeology, from Prehistory to AD 1700, from the Americas to the Mediterranean. Special emphasis on classical antiquity (Hellenistic to late Roman periods).

Sedgeford Historical & Archaeological Research Project

Large, long-term. multi-disciplinary, multi-period research project based on the parish of Sedgeford. Current work is concentrating on Roman to Early Medieval sites. It operates as a volunteer and training project. See digs directory for details of how to get involved.

Barcombe Roman Villa Project

In 2006 this work will continue with the University of Sussex (Centre for Continuing Education). The work this summer will concentrate upon the south-western area of the villa complex. Various CCE training courses will form part of the project. See Digs section for details.

Young Archaeologists Club, Perth Branch

Perth YAC provides opportunities for 8-16 year olds to find out about local history & archaeology outside the classroom. Events include field trips, museum based activities and a once year chance to take part in an excavation. Membership is ?5 per year.

Stratascan Ltd
