The Portable Antiquities database is now a living resource, constantly updated by Finds Liaison Officers and Advisors, with several hundred new objects each day. The objects recorded by the Portable Antiquities Scheme, are known as portable antiquities and are found by members of the public. These objects range from the Palaeolithic to around the 18th Century, and include items recorded in the Annual Treasure Report published by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport. You can do a quick search on finds using the box in the banner above on any page. For more controlled search options you can do an advanced search, on all published finds, perform a visual search, via a what, where, when interface, and browse thousands of images.
