Icon LogoFrom 2005, the society merged into The Institute of Conservation (Icon), along with  The Care of Collections Forum, The Institute of Paper Conservation, The Photographic Materials Conservation Group and The United Kingdom Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.  Icon raises awareness of the cultural, social and economic value of caring for heritage and champions high standards of conservation. They represent nearly 3,000 individuals and organisations, most of whom are based in the UK. Members include  professional conservators and  others who share a commitment to improving understanding of and access to our cultural heritage. Events are run throughout the year, most of which are open to the public.  The Scottish branch of Icon produces a journal three times a year.

  1. How can I get a copy of S. Foskett’s article “An Investigation into the Properties of Isinglass” ?

    • Hi Gila, thanks for getting in touch.

The full reference for the paper is Foskett, S. (1994) An investigation into the properties of isinglass. SSCR Journal, 5 (4). pp. 11-14. ISSN 0959-2369 – perhaps your local library might be able to point you in the right direction?

Or you could try contacting the Institute of Conservation (of which the Scottish Society for Conservation and Restoration is now a part) – their website is http://www.icon.org.uk/

      Best wishes,

      Carly
