Founded in 1988, the trust sets out to conserve local heritage through the development of projects and administration of grants, providing information and advice and running a programme of publications and outreach events. They aim to provide a resource for education for local communities and tourists alike, through preservation of the physical heritage of the Perth and Kinross area. Outreach events and other projects are run year-round, and have involved the recovery of a prehistoric log-boat and the re-instatement of 19th-century iron railing. They are supported by the Friends of Perth & Kinross Heritage Trust. More information on membership and their diverse range of programmes and publications can be found online.
