Welsh Mills Society

The society was formed in 1984 with the aims of studying the wind and water mills of Wales advising on the preservation and usage and encouraging working millars.

East Herts Archaeological Society

Programme of winter lectures and summer excursions. A century of Archaeology in East Herts. published 1998. Publishes newsletter and ‘Hertfordshire Archaeology’.

Saddleworth Historical Society

Programme of monthly lectures at Saddleworth Museum. Publishes a quarterly bulletin and large range of maps, guides and books. Involved in excursions, archive research, industrial archaeology, conservation and excavation. Tours of Castleshaw Roman fort.

Chepstow Archaeological Society

A friendly and enthusiastic group with members of all ages. We have monthly meetings, including site visits. There are opportunities to join in excavations locally.

Clevedon & District Archaeological Society

Programme of monthly lecture meetings from September to March. Monthly visits from April to September. Annual long weekend study tour. Publish an annual newsletter. Undertake excavations and fieldwork, whenever possible. We usually arrange some activity for the general public on national Archaeology Day.

West Norfolk and Kings Lynn Archaeological Society

Programme of monthly lectures during winter and visits. Survey and exploratory work on a possible Romano-British site. Visits, and social activities during the summer months. Lectures held at Farmers Arms, Knights Hill Hotel, South Wootton, King’s Lynn.
