A society for anyone interested in the rich history of the Leighton Buzzard area, LBDAHS was formed in 2006 from the two local research groups  Leighton Buzzard & District Archaeological Society and Leighton Linslade Local History Research Group. Today, the society holds meetings, provides speakers, carries out excavations and encourages members of all ages to carry out research on their own and as a group.

The group has a wide range of publications, transactions and newsheets, many of which are available on their website.

    Just to make you & your members aware that you would be most welcome to join us for a free,historical event in the village of Hockliffe.
    Hocktide- The Vikings Are Coming is on Sat 10th May 11am-4pm at the Kilby Road recreation ground in Hockliffe.
    Celebrating the victory of the Saxons over the Vikings in 1002,there will be a battle re-enactment as well as performances throughout the day. We are even having a binding ceremony where male volunteers may wish to be tied up by the womenfolk & can only be released with a charitable donation!
    Refreshments include BBQ & beer tent.
