The Society actively studies, explores and records the archaeology of the Huddersfield area. It covers Pre-history, the Roman and Mediaeval periods and more recently, Industrial Archaeology. A Roman Interest Group has just been formed, whose priority is to find more links of the Roman Road across the Pennines
A winter lecture series is held on the first Friday of each month from October to March, attracting speakers from the top-rank of professional archaeologists and researchers. The Society also organises excursions and social activities on a regular basis. A Young Archaeologists’ club is planned for 2006/7.

Dear Sirs, Having recently moved from Holme to Meltham, I should like to know what is known about those two sites on the side of West Nab, described variously on maps as Settlement, Camp or Earthwork.
I should be grateful if you could let me know the stage of current thinking/opinion.
Dear Dr Quarmby,
Thank you for your message. This post is just a listing about the Huddersfield & District Archaeological Society. You might like to try getting in touch with the group directly here: http://www.huddarch.org.uk/contacts.html
Best wishes,
The CA Team
