Flintshire Historical Society

1 min read

The Society was founded in 1911 for the collection and publication of archaeological, historical information and materials relating to the then County of Flint.

A programme of lectures is organised during the winter months, and over the summer they arrange a series of  excursions to sites of historic and archaeological interest. There is also an annual residential summer school, which gives members the opportunity to explore the history of others regions of Britain.

Advantages of membership include:

  • Lectures by distinguished historians, archaeologists and research workers.
  • Excursions (by coach and car) to houses and other places of historic and archaeological interest, and visits to excavations in progress.
  • Free copy of the Society’s Journal, which contains articles based on original research.
  • Purchase of back numbers of the Journals and offprints (where available) at discounted prices.
