The unit undertakes research and contract work in North West England, with particular interests in wetland archaeology, prehistoric, Romano-British and medieval rural settlement and landscapes. Services include desk-based assessments, fieldwalking, evaluations, excavations and aerial photography. Collaborates with University of Liverpool on annual teaching excavations.
