Last year in Cardiff, we launched the Current Archaeology Awards to resounding success. We’re excited to open this year’s competition and look forward to your votes  — just  CLICK HERE; these awards are our way of hearing back from all of you who have helped to make CA such a great success over the past 41 years.

It’s been a great year for archaeology in Britain and a great year for Current Archaeology. We’ve redesigned the magazine, and covered some brilliant news, digs and projects. We’re on Twitter and Facebook so that our readers can find us easily and let us know how we’re doing. Thanks to everyone for your letters, comments and suggestions — as you can see from the magazine, we’re listening.  We hope you will join us in recognising the projects, people and books that have provided such fantastic and interesting reading this past year by casting your votes. The winners will be announced during the conference drinks reception on Saturday evening, 27 February 2010.  Finally, we are thrilled to be bringing Brian Fagan, a long-standing friend as well as a prolific author and public figure in archaeology, back from America as our master of ceremonies for this special evening.
