Environment and Heritage Service
Curators for Northern Ireland to record, protect and promote the built heritage. Maintains a computerised Sites and Monuments Record. Provides statutory regulation and enforcement, advice on planning, and grant aid. Carries out surveys, excavations and recording of monuments and buildings.

National Trust for Scotland
Five full-time permanent archaeologists act as curators for properties of the National Trust for Scotland, providing cultural resource management. Runs training excavations and surveys, and provides training for some long-term volunteers.
