Archive of Anglo-Saxon Pottery Stamps

The Archive aims to record every known stamp impression on early Anglo-Saxon (pagan or migration) ceramics as cards, computer records and casts with over 23,000 stamps listed at January 2004. It is also compiling a Corpus of Romano-Saxon and other Roman stamp impressions.
 

Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort

Situated off the A487 between Cardigan & Newport, this partially reconstructed Iron Age promontory fort is sited within thirty acres of woodland and river meadows. Castell Henllys is open to the public Easter to the end of October, and all year round for school/college visits. A large scale training excavation organised by the University of York takes place every summer investigating the Iron Age site and adjacent Roman period farmstead. Over 100 activities and events throughout the season. Visitor Centre and gift shop. A training excavation under the direction of Dr Harold Mytum of the University of York will continue in late July/August. Sedgeford Historical & Archaeological Research Project

Large, long-term. multi-disciplinary, multi-period research project based on the parish of Sedgeford. Current work is concentrating on Roman to Early Medieval sites. It operates as a volunteer and training project. See digs directory for details of how to get involved.
   

American Society of Irish Archaeology

The American Institute of Irish Archaeology was founded in 2005 with the goals of expanding student and professional opportunities for Americans interested in Irish archaeology. It sponsors an ongoing excavation at Kilteasheen, Co Roscommon, Ireland.
 

Danebury Trust

The Danebury Environs Project II is investigating 'Rural Roman settlement in the West Hampshire downland' and started with the excavation of the Roman villa at Houghton Down in 1997. This has been followed by excavations on villas at Grateley, Fullerton, Thruxton and Abbotts Ann, all villa sites with Iron Age antecedents. This year we will continue work at the villa complex at Dunkirt Barn, near Abbotts Ann, to the west of Andover and will focus on the excavation of a large Aisled Hall.
