A forum representing archaeologists working for local authorities in the UK. Its interests embrace every aspect of the historic environment including archaeology, the built environment and historic landscapes. ALGAO works in partnership with Government, English Heritage and other agencies to develop strategic policies and to promote best practice and the highest professional standards. The Association has a network of committees covering specific areas of interest.
