The equivalent of the Council for British Archaeology in Scotland. Promotes informed opinion concerning the study and conservation of Scotland’s archaeological heritage. It is a membership society, members being local archaeological, historical and amenity societies, museums and other bodies, and individuals. Members receive ‘Discovery and Excavation in Scotland’ annually, and ‘Scottish Archaeological News’ 3 times a year. Archaeology Scotland   facilitates communication among the archaeological community, both amateur and professional, co-ordinates the Scottish network of Young Archaeologists Club branches, and acts as a source of information about archaeology.
