Uttoxeter Archaeology Society

1 min read

The Uttoxeter Archaeological Society (U.A.S.) was formed in September 2002 to explore the Archaeology of Uttoxeter and the surrounding area. This amateur society aims to provide a focus for people interested in the towns’ history and prehistory. The society undertakes a range of activities including a programme of talks, School after school clubs, collection exhibitions, field visits and historical and archaeological research and hands-on archaeology and training.
This Spring the Society will undertake a series of digs and survey work local to Uttoxeter with a pre-historic theme. There will be opportunities to camp over the weekend on location in the Staffordshire hills, although there will be a charge for attendance varying according to status.
