The Society was founded in 2000 to investigate finds that had resulted from field walking on the south side of the Burton Hills in South Warwickshire. A combination of aerial photography geophysics and field walking has revealed a large dispersed multi period settlement. The first site excavated and now closed revealed a large RB aisled building. Geophysics in the vicinity has revealed other buildings and the excavation has started on the main villa building. The excavation is not funded -run totally by volunteers with the help from the County Archaeologist and professional archaeologists who give their time where possible. We welcome volunteers of all ages and experience.
