Chichester and District Archaeology Society celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011. It aims to increase public awareness of and support for archaeology and to encourage volunteer assistance to local activities. The society is affiliated with to the Council for British Archaeology and works closely with Sussex Archaeological Society, the District Archaeology Officer, Chichester Harbour Conservancy, English Heritage, Chichester District Museum and Fishbourne Roman Palace.
New members are welcome and anyone who is interested can attend lectures, which start at 7:30pm and finish at about 9pm. These take place on the fourth Wednesday of every month (with the exception of December where it is usually the third Wednesday) at the New Park Centre, New Park Road, Chichester.
