CBA Wessex is the regional group of the Council for British Archaeology covering Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Berkshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. They comprise a team of enthusiastic volunteers from a variety of backgrounds including commercial archaeology units, academia, local government archaeological services and those with a general interest in archaeology. They have around 500 members and stress their inclusive nature for all those who are interested in taking part.
The society arranges lectures, field visits, guided walks, study days and conferences in order to take an active role in preserving and enhancing their heritage. A twice yearly newsletter and monthly e-newsletters are produced to keep members up-to-date, as well as an actively updated website.
