Previously known as the Berkshire Field Research Group. Activities include various fieldwork, outings, talks, post-excavation and archive research. New members are welcome. No experience is required, and training will be given where appropriate. Current investigations include part of the Devil’s Highway, and fieldwalking and hedgerow surveying throughout Berkshire. NT monitoring has resumed, and the classification of finds from the medieval moated site excavation at Spencer’s Farm near Maidenhead is nearing completion. A survey of Berkshire Dovecotes has been completed, and now awaits publication. It is intended to expand research into landscape archaeology throughout Berkshire. Some small scale excavations are also planned this year.
