Beedon Archaeological Group

The group was established to formalise the excavation that Victor Pocock has been running for the last 20 years. The site has produced evidence from the Bronze Age to Roman period. The excavation season starts in late April and continues to early autumn. This excavation is only suitable for local volunteers as activity is intermittent and there are no facilities for formal training and accreditation. Because of EU regulations the 2005 season will not start till the end of July. A list of accommodation addresses will be sent if requested.
