Caer Alyn Archaeological & Heritage Project

Caer Alyn is a multi-period site and we are currently investigating Iron Age activity on the Caer Alyn fort. The area’s that will be excavated this season will be the cross ditches near the northern entrance to the fort and the enclosure situated near the southern entrance

Training will consist of :- Geophysical Survey, Excavation techniques, Surveying, Recording, Photography.

During 2010 the project will concentrate its archaeological work in two areas. The search for the medieval St Leonard’s chapel and an in-depth survey, investigation and conservation of the hillfort and its environs. The hillfort’s southern enclosure will also be our site for the summer training excavation in 2010.
