Bexley Archaeological Group’s annual training dig will be held at their on-going site in Bexley, Kent.
Excavations were first carried out in Autumn 2005. The 5 day training course consists of field walking on the Thames Foreshore, geophysics, site layout, surveying, excavating, finds processing, archaeological illustrations, section/plan drawing, recording and talks.
The £100 fee for the course includes all of the above, a year’s membership to the group (£14), insurance, certification and admin.
The course is run by members of the Field Unit who have a qualification in archaeology.
