A new club set up for2006

Ynys Mon branch

Attached to the Trimontium Trust, the branch has broadly based interests covering Melrose Abbey, Smailholm Tower, Abbotsford, fieldwalking, resistometer use, medieval stone recording, prehistoric dwellings on Eildon Hill North, stone circles, Archaeology fairs etc.

Sparcs, Spelthorne Young Archaeologists’ Club

Activities are varied. Usually 1/2 talk & 1/2 practical, e.g. animal bones, making mosaics, historical cookery and religion. No more exists, marion 29/05/08

Children aged 8 – 14yrs attend monthly meetings based in Callendar House, Falkirk. Learning practical archaeology with yearly excavation experience. Experimental archaeology through ancient crafts. UK competitions, visits to other branches around Scotland and summer outings.

We meet usually one Saturday each month to do archaeological projects, take part in fieldwork/excavations, or try a wide range of hands-on archaeological activities on beach, moor or in our clubhouse No more exists, marion 29/05/08

Children of 8-16 are welcome to join us for indoor and outdoor activities monthly throughout the school year.

Club for young people 8-16 years. Practical activities include site visits, experimental archaeology, field surveys, site recording. Contact the Council for Scottish Archaeology, c/o National Museum of Scotland, Chamber Street, Edinburgh for further details.
