This long-established county archaeological society publishes its proceedings annually, including the bulletin ‘The Conduit’ with programmes of relevant societies in the county. Lectures and excursions as well as two conferences a year, in spring and autumn.

MARS undertakes commercial and research surveys with metal detectors using the MARS system of fifty metre squares with finds recorded to the nearest metre. The society aims to promote a historical awareness of West Wales and is engaged in the restoration and sailing of vintage boats and teaching skills associated with them. Also undertakes documentary research and talks. Constructs model ships (local) to museum standard for local museums.
