Curator for the Scottish Borders. Maintains computerised Sites and Monuments Record. Provides advice on planning and forestry. Develops public access and interpretation, including publications in the Borders Heritage Series.

Aberdeenshire, Angus & Moray Archaeological Service

Chester Archaeology

The lead organisation for archaeology in Chester District. Devon County Council, Historic Environment Service

Curator for Devon. Maintains computerised Historic Environment Record. Provides planning, agri-environment, conservation and management advice. Undertakes aerial reconnaissance. The Historic Landscape Characterisation exercise has been completed for the county. DCC works closely with Devon Archaeological Society and provides regular input to the Society’s training programme.

West of Scotland Archaeology Service

Curator for 11 councils in Argyll, Clyde Valley and Ayrshire. Maintains Sites and Monuments Record and provides advice on planning issues.

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

The Sandwell Borough Archaeologist is the archaeological curator for Sandwell Borough. The department provides planning advice and maintains a Sites & Monuments Record (SMR)

Derbyshire County Archaeologist

Dumfries & Galloway Council Archaeologist

Curator for Dumfries & Galloway. Maintains Sites and Monuments Record. Advises on planning issues, forestry and agri-environment schemes.

Lancashire County Archaeology Service

Curator for Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool Borough Councils (now Unitary Authorities). Maintains computerised Sites and Monuments Record. Provides advice on planning and other issues. Guided visits and walks.

South Gloucestershire Council

Curator for South Gloucestershire. Maintains Historic Environment Record. Provides an integrated archaeological service.

West Berkshire Heritage Servive

Curator for West Berkshire unitary authority since June 2000, maintaining the Sites and Monuments Record for the western half of the county of Berkshire. Provides archaeological advice on planning applications and undertakes monument management and interpretation. Heritage Service also manages the West Berkshire Museum which houses the area’s archaeology collection.

Essex County Council, Waste Recyling and Environment
