The Young Archaeologists’ Club is a membership Club for young people aged between eight and sixteen. Members receive a membership pack, containing a membership card, certificate, badge, and the Young Archaeologist quarterly magazine which is packed with archaeological news, competitions and practical activities. The Club magazine also contains details of Club activities including the Young Archaeologist of the Year Award, residential holidays, and our YAC Pass Scheme, which gives our members free access and special offers at over 120 sites and museums across the UK, as well as all sites in the care of Cadw, English Heritage, Historic Scotland and the Environment and Heritage Service. Furthermore, there are around 65 YAC Branches across Britain which hold regular meetings. Branch activities vary, but typically members can expect to learn about the many different aspects of practical archaeology including excavation, fieldwalking, surveying, conservation, etc. as well as learning more about the periods in Britain from the Palaeolithic to the Second World War – and archaeology from around the world such as the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks.
